bRIDGERTON EDITORIAL SHOOT

When Bridgerton premiered in late 2020 I was completely consumed by it (I know I don’t stand alone with this statement). It may had have something to do with my inherent obsession with English high society culture, period pieces, the romance, and of course elaborate costumes.

So the next logical step was to create wedding inspiration out of my new favorite show. I got to work on a mood board pulling inspiration and ideas together and began sourcing some of the smaller details. The next step was venue scouting and the picturesque setting at the Gardens at Heather Farm was an ideal location. Funny enough, we were originally going to set up in their gazebo but it just so happened that the week of our shoot this stunning Akebono flowering cherry tree bloomed and it was a unanimous decision to relocate the tablescape.

With a mood board and a great team in place (shoutout to LC Floral Design , The Ganey's, Pleasanton Rentals, The Gardens at Heather Farms, and Stefanie Weinapple Makeup I went to work turning this mood board into reality.

Given the diverse background of the Bridgerton cast I wanted our model to represent the South Asian community. Fortunately a friend of mine was happy to volunteer as our model and I was able to borrow a beautiful lengha that my friend brought back from India. (This was all before the Season 2 cast was revealed which included a new lead, British Indian actress Simone Ashley).

To say I was onto something is an understatement.

Laura with LC Floral Design went bold and bright with a stunning floral runner. She also had the idea of adding a floral bangle and it turned out beautifully.

The rose dessert plate dishes I purchased years ago. The teacups are from my personal collection and if you look closely you will see a special Royal Collection teacup and saucer, a treasured gift I received a few years back.

A lush mauve velvet napkin was adorned by delicate gold bee napkin rings I found on Etsy. And if you are a fan of details, the bee is an Easter egg of sort making appearances throughout season 1 as a hidden message.

The tea bombs were such a special find (also on Etsy) and are encased in a sugar mold that melts away as your pour hot water on it. Think hot cocoa bomb but fancier. I found these domes at Ikea and they worked perfectly to compliment the Indian sweets.

Pleasanton Rentals supplied the Alexa Sky Velvet Loveseat, White Belize Linen, Brushed Gold Flatware, Rose Pressed Goblet, French Country Chair, Abigail Charger.

The powder blue cloak and soft tulle gloves were also found on Etsy.

Cookie Makin Mama created these royal icing cookies incorporating my request for bees, bright blooms, and Lady Whistledown of course.

Thank you to this amazing team! If you are based in Northern California and are planning your wedding be sure to consider them…and don’t forget your wedding planner!
